 فرشتے کو آدم علیہ السلام کے بارے میں آگاہ کرنا اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا: اور جب تمہارے رب نے فرشتوں سے کہا: "بے شک میں زمین پر نسل در نسل انسانوں کو بسانے والا ہوں۔" انہوں نے عرض کیا: "کیا آپ ایسے لوگوں کو وہاں رکھیں گے جو وہاں فساد برپا کریں گے اور خون بہائیں گے؟  جبکہ ہم آپ کی تسبیح و تحمید کرتے ہیں اور آپ کی پاکیزگی بیان کرتے ہیں  (آپ ان تمام چیزوں سے پاک ہیں جنہیں وہ آپ کے شریک ٹھہراتے ہیں)۔" اللہ نے فرمایا: "میں وہ جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے۔" (سورۃ البقرہ: آیت 30) آدم علیہ السلام کو علم سکھانا اور اس نے آدم کو ہر چیز کے نام سکھا دیے، پھر انہیں فرشتوں کے سامنے پیش کیا اور فرمایا: "اگر تم سچے ہو تو ان کے نام بتاؤ۔" فرشتوں نے عرض کیا: "سبحان آپ! ہمیں وہی علم ہے جو آپ نے ہمیں سکھایا ہے۔ بے شک آپ ہی سب کچھ جاننے والے، حکمت والے ہیں۔" اللہ نے فرمایا: "اے آدم! ان کے نام انہیں بتا دو۔" جب آدم نے ان کے نام بتا دیے، تو اللہ نے فرمایا:  "کیا میں نے تمہیں نہیں بتایا تھا کہ میں آسمانوں اور زمین کے غیب کو جانتا ہوں،  اور میں جانتا ...
